An Iraqi Referee from Northern Technical University Officiates West Asia Championship Matches

An Iraqi female referee from Northern Technical University has recorded a distinguished presence in the West Asia Under-14 Girls’ Football Championship, held on open pitches and hosted in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This participation marks a first of its kind in the history of Iraqi refereeing at this age category.

Assistant referee Aisha Atif is taking part in officiating several matches of the championship, representing a significant step that reflects the growing role and advancement of Iraqi women in the field of sports officiating.

On Sunday, the Iraqi referee Aisha Atif officiated the match between Bahrain and Jordan as part of the second round of the West Asia Under-14 Girls’ Championship, a task that demonstrates the high level of confidence placed in her by the organizing committee.

This participation further strengthens the regional standing of Iraqi women’s refereeing and underscores the ability of Iraqi talents to excel and achieve distinction across various sporting arenas.
