Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Technical Institute / Role, the Department of Mechanical Technologies at the Institute organized a scientific workshop entitled “Linking LANs”, in which:

The assistant teacher, Yasser Iyad Taha, was a teaching assistant in the department, and a number of the institute’s employees participated in it.

The workshop aimed to:

1. Definition, classification, and types of networks
2. Types of network connectivity and the advantages of each type
3. Network parts and the function of each part
4. Networking methods

The workshop indicated:

1. Update networks and increase their speed
2. Linking departments and companies to wide networks to facilitate the transfer of information
3. Securing networks and spreading security awareness to avoid information theft or acts of sabotage
