was organized by the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at Mosul Technical College, in collaboration with the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division at the Presidency of Northern Technical University and the Mosul Eye Foundation.
The visit involved a group of students and graduates from our college’s Department of Construction and Building Technologies, accompanied by the academic supervisor, Dr. Hassan Mohammed Ahmed, and the head of the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit. The purpose of the visit was to explore the old district on the right side of Mosul city, which is undergoing reconstruction and development supervised by UNESCO, aiming to revive the spirit of Mosul by restoring its historic houses and alleys. Additionally, the visit included a tour of the reconstruction and restoration site of the Al-Tahira Church. During the visit, participants gained insights into the architectural heritage, the rehabilitation principles for damaged structures, and the construction materials used to preserve the architectural and heritage identity. These aspects were elaborated upon by the site engineers.
