The Technical Agricultural College Successfully Produces Red Lettuce

With direct support from the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alyaa Abbas Al-Attar, and under the field supervision and follow-up of the Dean of the Technical Agricultural College, Prof. Dr. Shehab Ahmed Al-Bajjari, the Technical Agricultural College has achieved a remarkable scientific and agricultural accomplishment by successfully producing red lettuce as part of its applied and research projects.

This achievement comes within the framework of the College’s continuous efforts to adopt modern agricultural technologies and effectively utilize the scientific and research capabilities of its academic and technical staff. The project aims to diversify agricultural crops with high nutritional and economic value, while promoting the principles of sustainable agriculture and food security.

Red lettuce is considered one of the crops with significant nutritional importance due to its richness in vitamins, antioxidants, and health-promoting compounds, in addition to its increasing demand in local markets.
