A master’s thesis at the Northern Technical University researched the (solar distiller performance combined with solar cells)

The master’s thesis at the Faculty of Technical Engineering-Kirkuk presented by the student Maryam Abdulwahid Jassim researched the (solar distiller performance integrated with solar cells)
The study examined:

Developing a new solar system, to improve solar distiller performance, utilizing the solar cell and heat exchanger, installed behind this solar cell, to increase salt water heating within the distillation basin. Heat exchangers have also been used within the distillation basin, to facilitate heat transmission between the solar system and water in the distillation basin. The pilot system was installed in Kirkuk.

The thesis aimed at:
Improving the performance of a combined solar distiller with a hybrid solar complex (adding a heat swap behind the solar cell) and compare it with a conventional distillery under Iraqi environmental conditions by calculating the system’s productivity and efficiency. In addition to studying the effect of adding heat exchangers within the solar distillation basin and studying the effect of changing water thickness and the effect of adding salt water black dye on the performance of the distiller

The conclusions
The results confirmed that the integration of solar distiller with solar complex (PV/T) improves hybrid system performance. The depth of basin water significantly affects the productivity and efficiency of hybrid and conventional solar distillation systems. Increasing the intensity of solar radiation increases the distiller’s productivity. The distiller’s productivity is inversely proportional to the temperature of the glass surface. and parcel with water temperature in the distillation basim. Because in summer the salt water temperature increases due to the air temperature rise, so it is higher than the water temperature coming from the solar cell swap, so the process is reflected.
