Under the auspices of Dr. Alia al-Attar, the President of NTU, and the supervision of Dr. Abdul Nasser Kashmola, the Dean of Mosul Polytechnic College, The Polytechnic College of Mosul, in cooperation with the Scientific Unit, organized a training course entitled “The Use of Total Station Instruments”.

The course aimed to:

• Enable participants to identify the most important menus on the Total Station instrument.
• Master the basic settings of the instrument.
• Train participants to activate the most important applications of the Total Station instrument.

A number of teaching staff, technicians, and engineers participated in the course with the objective of developing their practical skills in the use of modern surveying technology. The training program included theoretical lectures and practical field applications which contributed to raising the efficiency of the participants in handling advanced surveying equipment.

Recommendations:

• Continue organizing similar specialized courses to develop the skills of the teaching and technical staff in the field of modern surveying technologies.
• Provide the scientific departments with modern Total Station instruments to support the practical and applied aspects of training.
• Encourage students to participate in applied courses to link theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
• Prepare a simplified training guide for the use of the Total Station instrument and distribute it to the participants.
• Enhance cooperation with specialized companies in the field of surveying instruments to exchange expertise and organize joint workshops.
