Under the auspices of Dr. Alia’a al-Attar, the President of Northern Technical University, and under the supervision of Dr. Abdulnasser Kashmola, the Dean of Mosul Technical Institute,

The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Techniques Department organized a seminar entitled: (New Insulation Materials and Their Importance in the Use of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Devices).

The seminar aimed to:

1- Reduce the consumption of electrical energy used for air conditioning purposes. 2- Limit heat leakage from walls and ceilings to the interior. 3- Achieve a suitable functional dwelling and reduce costs. 4- Effectively reduce noise and provide a quiet environment.

The recommendations that emerged from the seminar:

1- Encourage the use of high-efficiency insulation materials such as fiberglass and mineral wool to improve the thermal performance of buildings. 2- Improve building design by adopting architectural designs that contribute to reducing heat loss, such as using double-glazed windows and natural ventilation. ¹ 3- Raise awareness about the benefits of thermal insulation and its importance in reducing electrical energy consumption. 4- Support research and development in the field of thermal insulation materials and technologies to improve their efficiency and reduce their cost.
