Conclusion of a scientific course on “Shade Plants: Their Benefits, Propagation, and Factors Affecting Their Growth” at the Mosul Technical Agricultural College.

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the guidance of the Dean of the Technical Agricultural College, Professor Dr. Shihab Ahmed Youssef, the Department of Desertification Control Techniques concluded a scientific course entitled “Shade Plants: Their Benefits, Propagation, and Factors Affecting Their Growth.” The course was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Students.

* Lecturers included:
– Asst. Dr. Ahmed Faris Al-Sawaf.
– Asst. Dr. Fanar Hashim Youssef.
– Asst. M. Ziyad Amer Mustafa.
– Asst. M. Zahra Fouad Abdul-Jabbar.
– Asst. M. Ilaf Taha Hussein.

* The course covered:
The benefits of shade plants in improving air quality, enhancing mental health, and enhancing the aesthetic appearance of the home. It also covered common propagation methods, such as propagation by cuttings, seeds, division, and offshoots, among others.
It also covered the most important factors affecting the growth of shade plants, such as light, humidity, and temperature.

* The course aimed to:
– Provide participants with the necessary knowledge to select appropriate plants, care for them, and propagate them correctly.
– Understand how to enhance the home or office environment using shade plants.
– Provide practical advice on solving common problems such as yellowing leaves.
– Enhance our understanding of these plants and how to benefit from them in our daily lives while ensuring their healthy and beautiful growth.

A number of instructors and members of the Mosul Agricultural Technical College.
