Prof. Dr. Atılgan ATILGAN

Prof. Dr. Atılgan Atilgan
Professor and Head of Biosystems Engineering, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, Türkiye
Prof. Dr. Atılgan Atilgan is a professor in the Faculty of Engineering at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ) and serves as the Head of the Biosystems Engineering Department. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Structures and Irrigation from Çukurova University, where he also completed his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees.
His research focuses on agricultural structures, air quality, climate control, waste management, irrigation systems, and environmental sustainability in agricultural production. His work extends to studying the impact of climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, and land and water resource management.
Prof. Atilgan has built a distinguished academic career spanning three decades. He began as a research assistant at Çukurova University (1993–2003) before joining Süleyman Demirel University, where he held positions as assistant professor (2003–2008), associate professor (2008–2015), and full professor (2015–2021). In 2021, he joined Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, assuming leadership roles as the Head of the Biosystems Engineering Department and later as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in 2022.
He has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters, significantly contributing to the field of biosystems engineering. His editorial roles in international journals and participation in research projects funded by TÜBİTAK and other institutions underscore his influence in academia.
Beyond research, Prof. Atilgan plays an active role in scientific peer review, serving as a referee for international journals in agricultural structures and irrigation. His leadership in academia, extensive publication record, and contributions to sustainable agricultural practices highlight his impact on the field.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet KİTİŞ

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kitiş
Professor, Department of Environmental Engineering, Süleyman Demirel University, Türkiye
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kitiş is a distinguished professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering at Süleyman Demirel University, Türkiye. He earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and Science from Clemson University, USA, and has extensive industry experience as a former process engineer at CH2M HILL Inc., California, USA.
With over 25 years of research and consulting experience, Prof. Kitiş specializes in water and wastewater treatment, membrane processes, watershed management, industrial cleaner production, industrial water efficiency, disinfection by-products, and advanced treatment technologies. He has contributed significantly to these fields through his extensive research and applied engineering work.
Prof. Kitiş has published over 140 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, with an h-index of 44 and more than 6,200 citations. He has presented over 200 conference papers and has played a key role in 76 national and international research and engineering projects funded by organizations such as the USA AWWARF, USEPA, EU IPA, TÜBİTAK, NATO, MEDRC, and various Turkish ministries.
Recognized for his academic and professional contributions, Prof. Kitiş has received 26 national and international awards. He has supervised 29 master’s and doctoral theses and held 47 leadership roles, including department chair, vice-rector, research institute director (TÜBİTAK MAM), consultant to governmental bodies, editorial board member, and industry advisor. He has also been honored as one of the world’s most influential scientists.
Assoc. Prof. Antanas JUOSTAS

Assoc. Prof. Antanas Juostas
Associate Professor, Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Safety, Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania
Assoc. Prof. Antanas Juostas is an associate professor at the Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Safety at Vytautas Magnus University, Agriculture Academy, Lithuania. He obtained his Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences from Aleksandras Stulginskis University in 2012, following his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Lithuanian University of Agriculture in 2007.
His research focuses on agricultural technology, harvesting machines, and optimizing the dynamic, ecological, and economic parameters of tractors. He has extensive expertise in applying telemetry systems for precision agriculture, analyzing fuel consumption, emissions, and soil compaction to enhance sustainability in farming.
In addition to his academic career, Assoc. Prof. Juostas has practical industry experience, currently serving as the Service Development Manager for the Baltic Region at Konekesko Lietuva. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers, with his research indexed in Scopus and ORCID. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences and actively participates in research collaborations.
He contributes to academic development as a committee member for undergraduate and graduate programs in Agricultural Mechanical Engineering and supervises master’s and doctoral research projects. He also engages in faculty exchange programs, delivering lectures at universities in Italy, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Additionally, he is involved in EU and Lithuanian Science Council (LMT) funded research projects.
Assoc. Prof. Juostas serves as an expert on agricultural standards and safety, collaborating with the Lithuanian Standardization Department (LST) and other national agencies. His contributions to academia and industry highlight his role as a key figure in agricultural engineering advancements.
