The Minister of Higher Education and scientific research congratulated the Iraqi people of the entry of Babylon into the World Heritage List

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Dr. Qusay Al-Suhail, congratulated the great Iraqi people on the occasion of the inclusion of the ancient Babylon city within the World Heritage List. The minister added that the entry of this ancient city will contribute to draw the world’s attention to the great volume of monuments that indicate the depth of our civilization and the preservation of its great heritage. In the congratulatory message, the Minister expressed his hope that this step would lead to more attention to this achievement and the need to expedite the fulfillment of the requirements of implementing of the World Commission. Then he added that the inclusion of Babylon in this list will be a reason to include more relics and monuments in our country on the international list beginning with the marshes and other archaeological sites of our country.
